How Corbin will die in 6 easy steps (but not by my hand).
Just pure mathematics:

Step 1. Lithtech Things = bastard
Step 2. Blood Game Fans = Lithtech Thing(s)
Step 3. Blood Game Fans = Crazy People
Step 4. Crazy People + Bastard(s) = Psychopath Murders
Step 5. Your Neightbourhood = Probably with any Blood Game Fan
Step 6. Psychopath Murders + Neightbourhood = Corbin Dead.

So, final deduction is: If Lithtech_Things = Bastard Then Corbin = Dead

And from that point, anything else can happen. Even the destruction of the universe is possible.

Watch your back while wandering outside, man. Laughing

Actually death is not the worst outcome as the madness is quite contagious.

Hey what can you say? One of the Admins at a particular blood site has POSITIVE ENERGY scrawled out in huge letters... for their sig.

Here is an attempt at just drawing the sprite from scratch. I know the pose is still awful, but the next one will be better. The figure actually fell over twice so I rushed to get legs at least sketched. Shading is also basic.

This book has helped me a lot with sprites. Also some great history on hand held devices.

After many tired nights and nearly at the point of giving up, I finally did it. How does the marine look? I'm very happy with how he came out. The in game sprite is actually 3x the size.

They look damn good. Trust me. Much better than re-hashing existing graphics right?

Where's your sprites? Laughing

Again, the hard work put in is obvious. The model is good, the poses well chosen. It's just trying to picture the sprite ingame that's hard. it's probably a just a limitation on my mind's eye is all.

Here is a really low res version of my soldier with one enlarged to show off the pixels. (Without shading at the moment) As is they appear just as good if not better than Doom Sprites and years ahead of anything found in Aliens Online. Sorry if I came off as rude above, I just want to silence any skepticism and eventually promote myself as a legendary sprite artist. Cool

Why you don't make some 3D models instead all those sprites?

Well made models with good textures are better than sprites. Just take a look at Quake. It wouldn't look good if Ogres and Shamblers were made out of sprites. Razz

As long as I can keep the total frames for each character under 3mb or 4mb in size each rotation will be a high res as possible.

I think I've already made a good argument about this... I respectfully disagree, if Quake had used sprites much more detail could have been packed into the enemies. Both a common complaint among reviewers now and during it's time of release was the low quality of it's textures. The lighting and fancy 3d engine is what really captivated most people about Quake. For the weapons in my project: Aliens vs. Marine I will be forced to use 3d rips (over lack of frames with the stock Aliens Online weapons.) I'm one of the many people who miss shooting at pixels, not to mention most 3d rips I've seen often look out of place in my opinion. Another reason I've chosen the 2d route is simply because I continue to be fascinated with this lost art. No matter how archaic it may seem in contrast to newer tools and techniques available to both modders and artist alike. I will proudly say that "Pixels win again!" Cool

Karnizero will be won over after I show off my new textures.

You've been playing with 3d floors again- a good decorative use of it. If you wanted to capture the ambiance of the first movie, you could have a row of dynamic lights flashing down that hallway in turn. Then again I think you're going for that maintenance-access feel.

There will be lots of ambient lights/details.... Also there is not one single 3d floor in any of my screenshots.... Yet..... This is one area that I have not fully explored yet. Though for my project to be accurate 3d floors seem like a must! Maintenance Access feel? You betcha!

I thought those struts at the top were below the lights, crossing them from the viewers perspective.

Just clever design and texturing. So I'm pretty good at corridors, maybe someday I'll learn to make equally nice rooms. Cool
